Regional Project Coordinator role supporting Green for Change Ghana's climate-smart agriculture and carbon project across Greater Accra, Volta, Northern and Upper East regions. The project focuses on Alternate Wetting and Drying, sustainable rice production, greenhouse gas reduction, climate adaptation, farmer livelihoods and verified carbon credits.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee project activities within the assigned region, support adoption of climate-smart agriculture and Alternate Wetting and Drying practices, mobilize rice farmers and Water User Associations, organize trainings and field demonstrations, coordinate field data collection, monitor project indicators, maintain project records, engage GIDA, District Assemblies and community stakeholders, prepare progress reports and support carbon project validation, verification and compliance processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Rural Development, Climate Change, Agricultural Engineering or related field required. Master's Degree is an advantage. Minimum 5 years experience in agricultural development, climate change, natural resource management, rural development or related projects. Experience with farmer groups, cooperatives or irrigation schemes required. Climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, sustainable land management, carbon projects, greenhouse gas accounting, Verra or Gold Standard experience is an advantage.
